PORTFOLIO

If your spring cleaning has included the "40 bags in 40 days" decluttering challenge, you probably have a pile of items that need to leave your house. Sure, you could throw them away or donate them — but why not see if you can get a little cash for them? Try posting a few items on VarageSale, a buy-and-sell site that lets you do business with trusted folks in your community.

We thought we’d be here until our children were surly teenagers, and I earmarked the basement bedroom as a refuge for angsty adolescents.
So it’s not saying goodbye to our house that’s hard. It’s saying goodbye to the possibilities ...

Papers and projects created while pursuing a master's degree in English at UNC-Charlotte:
  • English 5181: Creating User Documents (spring 2023): In the final project for this course, I created a webpage showcasing three assignments from the semester: a tutorial sheet for Adobe Acrobat; a usability study for a university library app; and a video tutorial for the app ToDoist.
  • English 6116: Introduction to Technical/Professional Writing (fall 2023): My research paper for this course examined the history and efficacy of spellcheck and Grammarly. This paper will influence my master's capstone project, to be completed in December 2025.
5 / Editorial Projects
As an editor with the Destination Publishing Group at Pace Communications, I spearheaded city profile sections that ran in the inflight magazines of Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways, and Southwest Airlines. These pieces of custom content met advertiser/client objectives while upholding editorial quality. Leveraging quality writing, beautiful images, and skilled art direction, our team produced sections that were truly worthy of the cities they profiled.
Overall, I planned and managed more than 20 sections, but here are a few of the most memorable:
